A WooCommerce invoice is not a receipt
3 November 2026 · module Invoicing for WooCommerce
WooCommerce does not issue invoices: only “receipts” with no accounting value. In the eyes of the tax authority, the difference matters.
What a French invoice must carry
Sequential numbering, SIRET, intra-community VAT, late payment penalties, early-payment discount: this is what the tax authority expects, and what the module prints. The shop's identity appears on the invoice; the PDF engine and the document template are set in the module.
Numbering that no longer moves
Once issued, an invoice keeps its number. No gaps, no renumbering, never altered after the fact. It is the first thing an audit looks at.
Credit notes and deposits
When a sale is undone, you issue a credit note rather than erasing anything. The module handles credit notes and deposits: no need for a second plugin for everyday operations.
In batches, with a log
Invoicing can be run in batches, with an execution log that keeps track of what was done. The accounting export then hands everything over to your accountant.
A diagnostic before issuing
The module shows a diagnostic: everything that must be green before an invoice is issued. Better to know before the first number than after.
The e-invoicing reform
The French e-invoicing reform is rolling out in stages since September 2026, with a later deadline for smaller businesses. The module produces PDF invoices: check what the timetable requires of you on impots.gouv.fr.
Requirements and licence
WordPress 6.5 or later, WooCommerce 8.0 or later, PHP 7.4 to 8.3. 39 €, once: perpetual licence. The optional renewal (19 €/year) only covers updates and support. Without a licence key entered, the module contacts no server.
Coming soon: country-specific rules
Today, the module applies French rules. A future version is meant to add rule sets for the euro area, the United States and the United Kingdom. No date announced: we will publish it when it is ready.
